While most of the U.S. airline industry has been sailing along for the past two years, Hawaiian Holdings, (NASDAQ: HA ) has hit some rough patches. Unit revenue declined in 2013 due to a combination of overcapacity on some routes, and unfavorable currency fluctuations.
However, Hawaiian Holdings has been on the mend for several quarters now. Unit revenue returned to growth last fall, and there are several more unit revenue growth drivers coming on line this summer. In addition, the segment manufactures a selection of fasteners and other closure devices used to secure access doors on various types of industrial equipment, such as metal cabinets, machinery housings and electronic instruments.
Eastern Industrial expands the range of offerings of this segment to include plastic injection molding. Typical products include passenger restraint locks, slam and draw latches, dead bolt latches, compression latches, cam-type vehicular locks, hinges, tool box locks, light-weight sleeper boxes for Class eight trucks and school bus door closure hardware. The products are sold directly to ! original equipment manufacturers and to distributors through a distribution channel consisting of in-house salesmen and outside sales representatives. The industrial segment sells its products to an array of markets, such as the truck, bus and automotive industries, as well as to the industrial equipment, military and marine sectors.
Security Products
The Security Products segment manufactures electronic and mechanical locking devices, both keyed and keyless, for the computer, electronics, vending and gaming industries. The segment also supplies its products to the luggage, furniture, laboratory equipment and commercial laundry industries. Greenwald manufactures and markets coin acceptors and other coin security products used primarily in the commercial laundry markets, as well as hardware and accessories for the appliance industry. In addition, the segment provides a level of security for the access control, municipal parking and vending markets through the use of smart card technology.
Greenwald�� products include timers, drop meters, coin chutes, money boxes, meter cases, smart cards, value transfer stations, smart card readers, card management software, access control units, oven door latches, oven door switches and smoke eliminators. Illinois Lock Company/CCL Security Products/Royal Lock sales include cabinet locks, cam locks, electric switch locks, tubular key locks and combination padlocks. Many of the products are sold under the names SEARCHALERT, PRESTOSEAL, DUO, WARLOCK, SESAMEE, BIG TAG, PRESTOLOCK and HUSKI. Metal Products
The Metal Products segment produces expansion shells for use in supporting the roofs of underground mines. This segment also manufactures specialty malleable and ductile iron castings. Typical products include mine roof support anchors, couplers for railroad braking systems, adjustable clamps for con! struction! and fittings for electrical installations. Mine roof support anchors are sold to distributors and directly to mines, while specialty castings are sold to original equipment manufacturers.

Another way for investors to play the robotics industry is a new exchange traded fund, Robo-Stox Robotics & Automation (symbol: ROBO). The ETF owns a basket of robotics and automation stocks. One major caution, though, is that not all the stocks in the ETF are those investors traditionally think of when it comes to robotics. The largest weighting is in 3D Systems, a maker of a 3D printer, and Faro Technologies, which makes measurement devices. But none of the stocks in the ETF account for more than 4% of the total value, so the diversification helps give investors a way to play the speculative industry.

(6) Trend reversals are difficult to forecast in advance but they don't have to be. They occur when the trend lines as indicated by the moving averages are newly broken. In order for the reversal to be complete, all three of the moving averages have to be broken. Once broken, you either have a "durable" reversal or a "false" reversal. With lots of practice, you can learn how to (A) make decisions early in the reversal process and (B) distinguish between durable and false reversals.

Navistar has been under pressure for a long time. Not only did the SEC have to investigate the company last year over alleged poor disclosure of its weak financial condition, but Navistar had to resort to making a deal with rival Cummins (NYSE: CMI ) in order to obtain engine technology that would allow it to comply with EPA emissions standards. With new regulations coming in future years, Navistar faces the ongoing challenge of keeping up with higher standards.

The Great Bull Market of 2009-2014 started on March 9, 2009 when the S&P 500 Index stood at 667. The S&P 500�� relentless bull market advance over the course of the next 2,000 days would reach a record high index level of 2000 in late August. Relentless indeed, according to Bespoke, the S&P 500 Index has been up seven quarters in a row ��the best streak since 1998 and the fourth best since 1950.

The Q2 2014 earnings report for Navistar International Corp (NYSE: NAV), a potential peer of light, medium- and heavy-duty truck or engine makers PACCAR Inc (NASDAQ: PCAR) and Cummins Inc (NYSE: CMI), is scheduled to report earnings after the market closes on Thursday.�Aside from the Navistar International Corp earnings report, it should be said that PACCAR Inc and Cummins Inc both�reported Q1 2014 earnings on April 29th (PCAR reported higher revenues and net income�while CMI hit a�52-week high after a beat and raised guidance). However, Navistar International Corp�has lost market share since 2012 when�US regulators denied approval of a redesigned diesel engine that failed to reduce green house gas levels���forcing the company to turn to�rival Cummins Inc to supply engines as it develops its own catalytic reduction engines to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions.��

To give credit where it's due, Tesla Motors Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA) has been the one company to make electric vehicles a viable reality, melding coolness and functionality - even if not affordability - into an automobile that people will like, and buy. Yet, although TSLA shares are understandably priced relative to the company's sales and potential future earnings, investors and consumers alike may be errantly holding Tesla up as the harbinger of the electric vehicle era. The fact of the matter is, EV's are still a miniscule part of the auto market, and due to a lack of capacity and materials needed to put an electric car in every driveway, the real opportunity for carmakers like Honda Motor Co Ltd (NYSE:HMC) or Toyota Motor Corp (NYSE:TM) is to radically improve the efficiency of existing technologies like the combustion engine. Thing is, with the help of companies like Cummins Inc. (NYSE:CMI) and HydroPhi Technologies Group, Inc. (OTCMKTS:HPTG), names like Honda and Toyota really are making big strides in auto motor efficiency, with the biggest of those recent strides being made in the diesel arena. All joking aside, Tesla and other electric vehicle manufactures may want to look over their shoulder and see how quickly the diesel market is gaining on them.
